Deputy Jim O'Callaghan asked the Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government if a fund will be set up to assist owners of apartments to deal with serious fire safety issues and building defects; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that problems have emerged in respect of a number of apartment schemes on the south fringe of the Dublin City Council administrative area; the measures that have been taken to improve the building regulations in respect apartment developments; if action can be taken at this stage to hold developers accountable for defective complexes; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
