Deputy Pearse Doherty asked the Minister for Finance his views on requesting independent individuals of any of the four major auditing and accounting firms to the main banks before and during the crisis to review the decision of the special liquidator of Irish Bank Resolution Corporation to initiate proceedings against a company (details supplied) for its role in auditing Anglo Irish Bank, but not to pursue another company (details supplied) for its role in auditing Irish Nationwide; and if he believes that the second company should be held to account for its perceived auditing failures of the Irish Nationwide accounts.
