Deputy George Lawlor asked the Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration if he will review a case (details supplied) of a medical doctor resident and working since 2023 who has been denied renewal of their residency permit and informed that An Garda Síochána no longer renew such permits; if he accepts that a yearly visa which only allows the holder to be absent from the State for a short period annually is unsuitable for a doctor working in the Irish health service but with family living abroad; if he accepts that this situation poses difficulties for my them in relation avoiding double taxation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
