228 Ms McManus asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children if her attention has been drawn to the fact that for four years running, the Government budget has neglected to increase funding to the violence against women sector, other than cost of living increases and as a result of this, counselling services and other needs cannot be provided; if her attention has further been drawn to the fact that in view of the lack of structure to date and the effective cap on funding since 2002, this sector is in dire need of a once-off leap in funding with immediate effect; if this will be incorporated into the Finance Bill; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
