Deputy Máire Devine asked the Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration the steps being taken by his Department to address ongoing serious delays in the processing and issuance of Irish Residence Permit (IRP) cards for beneficiaries of temporary protection; the number of individuals currently awaiting the issue or renewal of an IRP card; the average processing time for the issue of an IRP card following registration or renewal; the advice available to individuals who applied for temporary protection registration or renewal, including those who applied as far back as February 2025, but who have yet to receive either an IRP card or confirmation that their application is being processed; the procedures available to individuals who have received confirmation that their temporary protection registration has been approved and have received a temporary protection certificate but have not yet received their IRP card; whether his Department provides confirmation that an IRP card application is being processed; whether consideration has been given to introducing an expedited process for the issuance of IRP cards in urgent cases relating to employment, education, medical treatment or essential travel; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
