Deputy Charlie McConalogue asked the Minister for Finance his plans for the better energy home scheme and the reason his Department is penalising this sector under the new home renovation incentive scheme by introducing the rule that qualifying expenditure over €4,405 plus VAT under this scheme will be reduced by three times the amount of any grant for the works as opposed to being reduced by the total amount of the grant; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
