Deputy Paul Murphy asked the Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government if consideration has been given to reviewing sections 43 and 54 of the Water Services Act 2007 in view of the consequences for householders where sewage blockages are reported under properties belonging to other persons but which result in sewage problems on their properties; his plans to introduce a scheme that would ensure that Irish Water would take the necessary action to clear such blockages; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
