PQ 229

229. Deputy Richard Boyd Barrett asked the Minister for Health the way in which she can justify excluding any consideration of the Irish language from the Inter-Departmental Group on the EU Food Information to Consumers Regulation, despite her Department having full legislative responsibility for food labelling in Ireland; if she accepts that refusing to even allow discussion of Ireland’s constitutional and legal obligations to the Irish language in national food labelling policy represents a dereliction of duty; and if she will now commit to amending the group’s terms of reference accordingly; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
