Deputy Aodhán Ó Ríordáin asked the Minister for Finance if his attention or that of the Central Bank has been drawn to any legal or regulatory obstacle placed by the State to persons in Ireland sending remittances through Irish banks to Cuba; if his attention has been further drawn to the fact that it is not possible to send such remittances through Irish banks or service providers in contrast with other EU countries such as Spain, Germany, Italy and Sweden; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
