Deputy Pearse Doherty asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Finance the estimated revenue that will be raised by applying a minimum effective tax rate of 40% for those on incomes above €150,000, increasing by 1% point for each additional €10,000 in income up to 250,000 for individually assessed income, and above €190,000 increasing by 1% point for each additional €10,000 in income earned up to €290,000, for jointly assessed income; the minimum effective rate to be applied to gross income; and the taxes to be incorporated which are income tax and USC.
