Deputy Dara Calleary asked the Minister for Education and Skills if his attention has been drawn to the fact that PRSI contributions in respect of accrued holiday pay, covering actual school holiday weeks, is not appearing on substitute teachers' P60s at the end of the financial year; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the Department of Social Protection is counting such holiday weeks in the case of substitute teachers therefore denying such teachers the opportunity of receiving credits (details supplied); if he will acknowledge that this situation is leaving such teachers in a precarious position in respect of their future pensions and or social welfare claims; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
