259 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if his attention has been drawn to the fact that in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Dublin, the applicant withdrew their application to the Belgium authorities when it was learned that the applicant’s sister was a nurse working here and that the applicant’s best interest could only be served where a family member was available and particularly when such a person had a medical competence appropriate to caring for a person with serious medical issues; if, in view of same he will allow the investigation of application for refugee status to take place here while in the care of their family; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
