Durkan asked the Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government if, in the context of providing a redress scheme for persons who have found themselves living in poorly built houses or houses not compliant with the standards applicable, it will be ensured that the construction industry, the insurance sector and planning authorities accept their share of the responsibility in view of the fact that fire and building regulations need to be observed and applied at all times; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
