Deputy Clare Daly asked the Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government the options available to a couple who apply for the Rebuilding Ireland home loan scheme in circumstances in which one of the married persons is employed and earning a wage and therefore eligible to apply and the other is self-employed since May 2017 with tax returns completed, but not certified for a period of two years; if they can be approved for the Rebuilding Ireland home loan scheme with particular reference to the fact that they can demonstrate that they have been paying a rent of over €1,700 a month for a period of two and a half years; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
