Deputy Louis O'Hara asked the Minister for Transport given that the Road Safety Authority published an interactive collision location map on 12 May 2026 making collision data from 2016 to 2024 publicly available, the reason local authority road engineers still require the National Vehicle and Driver File Bill 2026 to access this same data for infrastructure design and safety assessment purposes; whether local authorities can now use the published data as a basis for identifying and redesigning dangerous road sections; and to provide a specific date by which the National Vehicle and Driver File Bill 2026 will be enacted; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
