O’Keeffe asked the Minister for Health and Children if she will assist in having the southern Health Service Executive occupational therapist carry out an assessment in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Cork; if her attention has been drawn to the fact that this person has been advised that they will have to wait over 20 weeks for the occupational therapist to call during which time they will not be able to access their sanitary facilities; if the person will be given priority in view of the circumstances where they cannot wait so long for an assessment; and her views on whether there are applicants with exceptional circumstances where the waiting period should be waived.
