Durkan asked the Minister for Health the number of persons who have been adjudged to have gained sufficient emergency medical experience in the ambulance service to achieve the level of competence of paramedic including working in hospitals as a vaccinator during Covid; if sufficient technical experience in lieu of the Leaving Certificate has been achieved including on-site work as in the case of a person (details supplied); the number of such applicants for elevation to the rank of paramedic who have been successful in each of the past three years to date; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
