Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government if he will review the operation of shared ownership housing schemes which, as currently constructed, cause severe hardship to families who are forced to accept an annual increase on the rental equity of 4.7%; if he can enable such mortgage holders to buy out the remaining equity under the terms of a purchase scheme such as was previously available to local authority tenants; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
