PQ 262
262. Deputy Billy Kelleher asked the Minister for Education and Skills the reason when upskilling from dental nursing to dental hygienist, students are not eligible for a grant even though dental hygienist is level 7 while most of the nursing courses are level 6 and therefore most students are going up a level; if the fact that dental hygienists are solely responsible for the procedures carried out on their patients should not be reflected in their application for grants as significant upskilling from that of a dental nurse; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
