Deputy Jerry Buttimer asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection in view of a recent ruling by the Equality Tribunal which found that her Department’s approach to accessing job activation measures implied an assumption that only people on the live register are unemployed, if she will amend the practices of her Department and ensure that all people who are unemployed have access to job activation measures even if they are not on the live register; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
