PQ 268

309 Deputy Clare Daly asked the Minister for Social Protection her views on a case (details supplied) whereby a lone parent, having completed a Springboard programme, wishes to apply for an internship offered by the Industrial Development Agency which would be relevant to their qualifications and which they feel would improve their chances of full-time work, but they are disqualified due to being in receipt of one parent family payment; and her further views on whether this would appear to be discriminatory against lone parents.
