Deputy John McGuinness asked the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform if he will confirm that 65% of rate payers in County Limerick are to see a reduction in their rates at the expense of the other 35%, who will see an increase, in order that the total rates budget remains unchanged, and also that the increase particularly affects nursing homes, crèches and wind farms, all of which receive public supports; if that means there has been a change in Government policy as regards supporting these sectors; and if a regulatory impact assessment has been carried out, given the dramatic effects of this policy.
