Durkan asked the Minister for Justice and Law Reform if his attention has been drawn to the fact that, further to Parliamentary Question No. 141 of 7 October 2010, the relevant section of the Garda Síochána has publicly commented on the fact that numerous burglaries were due to unprotected or inadequate intruder systems and that victims only became aware of this after a burglary; that Parliamentary Question No. 141 requested information which is already in the hands of the Gardaí; that the use of such systems is seen as a bonus for burglary; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
