Breen asked the Minister for Transport further to Parliamentary Question No. 293 of 29 November 2005 if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the manager of Waterford Regional Airport successfully appealed a notification of a decision by Waterford County Council to grant planning permission to a person (details supplied) for a proposed bungalow on family lands within a designated development cluster on the basis that the said site was located close to Waterford Airport and within a red zone that is a massive 3,000 metres in length and that the manager indicated in his letter of objection that, in accordance with established aviation practice, it is highly desirable to keep an area as shown on an attached drawing free of new developments; if his Department was aware of or approved this massive red zone that was designated prior to the establishment of the Irish Aviation Authority; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
