28 Deputy Charles Flanagan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Education and Skills in relation to departmental circular 0058/2006, on redundancy arrangements for special needs assistants, with specific reference to a school (details supplied) in County Laois and having regard to the fact that an SNA post was terminated in accordance with the circular on the basis of the school’s SNAs seniority list, on the principle of last in first out and if, having regard to a decision by the board of management in respect of the seniority position of staff members, consideration would be given towards the acknowledgement of a redundancy application in respect of a person; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
