Deputy Michael Healy-Rae asked the Minister for Education and Skills the number of teachers with one or two years' experience, who have fixed term regular part-time contracts that applied to the SEC for superintending positions and the number of same that were appointed; the percentage of all the superintendents that were retired teachers; if the retired teachers were ever Garda vetted, either for State exams work or at any point in their careers; the person who assesses the suitability of these retirees; if there is a medical confirmation of fitness for the work; the point at which after retirement age they are no longer eligible; is eligibility indefinite; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
