Deputy Paul Murphy asked the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage if he will commence a review of part M of the Building Regulations 2010 to include specifications for liveable accommodation which provide appropriate accessibility as required by persons with varying levels of mobility in accordance with the lifetime adaptable housing design criteria (details supplied); if he will introduce planning regulations in order that 7% of all houses should be built to be fully wheelchair accessible while the remaining 93% of new houses are designed and constructed to follow and apply lifetime adaptable housing design criteria; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
