Deputy Séamus McGrath asked the Minister for Education for the position on the Supports for Survivors of Residential Institutional Abuse Bill 2024; for an update on the progress of the Bill and when it will be enacted; to advise if the Nursing Homes Supports Scheme Act 2009 will be reviewed as part of the Bill to ensure that any awards survivors received from the Residential Institutions Redress Board or similar court awards or settlements are not included in any financial assessment of means under the fair deal scheme; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
