Deputy Brendan Ryan asked the Minister for Finance the way in which it is possible for new home owners to avail of the DIRT incentive for first-time buyers, in view of the fact that the incentive is only payable once the property tax on a home has been paid, even though new homes are exempt from property tax for a period longer than the eligible period of the DIRT incentive.
