Deputy Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire asked the Minister for Education and Skills if his attention has been drawn to the situation facing persons who are seeking to become teachers and who, in order to further this objective, have repeated subjects such as, for example, Irish, having completed the remainder of the leaving certificate in another year; and if the calculation of their grade will be considered acceptable to admit students to teacher training courses in such circumstances.
