Deputy Carol Nolan asked the Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht if she is satisfied that the allocation of €5 million made in Budget 2020 from the carbon tax fund to restore over 1,800ha within the raised bog special area of conservation and national heritage area network on a number of raised bogs across several counties in the midlands region can now be used for this work in view of the High Court ruling in September 2019 requiring that work on peatlands in excess of 30ha requires planning permission and a valid EPA licence; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
