Deputy Matt Carthy asked the Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration the analysis carried out in relation to the potential impact of the expected commencement of the EU’s entry/exit system with regard to irregular migration on Ireland in October 2025; if he has concerns that this will have implications for Ireland as an EU Member State that is not part of the Schengen area or party to this new system; the changes regarding to the entry and exit from the State being introduced to coincide with this; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
