Broughan asked the Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government the number of landlords rejecting HAP tenancies per local authority in 2016 and to date in 2017 in circumstances in which a tenant was previously in receipt of rent supplement or in a private tenancy at that location; the circumstances in which a landlord can legally reject a HAP tenancy in view of the fact that discrimination of tenants in receipt of social welfare is not allowed; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
