Bruton asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the way in which savings of 8 million ecu were achieved in the amount allocated to Ireland under the Community Support Framework of the EU Structural Funds on commercial sea ports; the projects that have been abandoned or are behind schedule as a result of this saving; if this saving represents a policy decision or failure to advance the programme in accordance with existing policy; the correspondence, if any, he has had with the European Commission in this regard; if he will publish this correspondence; the implications of these savings or decommitting of funds for potential beneficiaries of the expenditure and when the Community Support Framework monitoring committee will meet to discuss this matter.
