Durkan asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht the extent to which funding provided by his Department, directly or indirectly, for the arts in each of the past four years to date has attracted private or philanthropic funding; the extent to which employment has been maintained or enhanced accordingly, in view of the fact that benefit is usually in a ratio of 4:1; if he is satisfied regarding the future development of the sector; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
