Bruton asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if he will make a statement on the implications for public policy in regard to school provision, transport provision and hospital and health care provision of the decline in population on large parts of Dublin city; and if the Government intends to take further policy initiatives to encourage the settlement of young families within those parts of Dublin city, the population of which is in decline, in order to make best use of existing educational, transport and health infrastructure.
