Deputy Carol Nolan asked the Minister for Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform the total value of estates, or partial estates, which were inherited by the State as the ultimate intestate successor under section 73 of the Succession Act 1965 in each year from 2000 to date; the number of individual deceased persons from whose estates these amounts were inherited; to outline any amounts which were waived under the provisions of section 73; the policy considerations taken into account when making such a decision to waive; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
