Deputy Pearse Doherty asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade his plans to initiate an action plan aimed specifically at addressing and resolving the ongoing plight and hardship of undocumented Irish citizens living in the United States, including advocating for immigration reforms and relief for undocumented Irish migrants; the extent of engagement which is taking place between authorities both here and in the US to examine these issues and to progress the regularisation of persons with such status residing in the US; if he will request that the issue of the undocumented Irish is discussed as part of any future meetings held between the Government and the incoming US President; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
