PQ 341

420 Mr. Bruton asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs if he will review the rules whereby a single parent can lose eligibility to the back to school allowance by taking up work which amounts to a lesser number of hours than would be sufficient to qualify for family income supplement; and if he will make changes to ensure that traps of this nature are removed in order that all single parents are encouraged to take up whatever work opportunities are compatible with their parental responsibilities.
