Deputy Denis Naughten asked the Minister for Health when a child (details supplied) will be called for a procedure to facilitate peg feeding; his views on whether it is acceptable for a child to be left two years waiting on such a procedure which is medically required due to the risk of choking; the reason the child has not been called to date; the alternatives that have been put in place to facilitate such procedures over the past two years; if the procedure is being performed on the other CHI sites; the reason the waiting list has to been transferred to another hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
