Deputy Peadar Tóibín asked the Minister for Health the person or body that will carry out the independent review of the tragic case in which a healthy unborn baby was aborted under section 11 of the Health (Regulation of Termination of Pregnancy) Act 2018; his views on whether such a review will only be independent if it is carried out by an organisation completely independent of the HSE and the National Maternity Hospital; his further views on whether the current master of the National Maternity Hospital has a statutory responsibility to the hospital in the first instance; and the way in which he plans to ensure that there is no conflict of interest that could affect an independent investigation.
