Deputy Eoin Ó Broin asked the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage the public authority, Minister or Minister of State, who was the responsible competent authority for the conduct of determination in accordance with obligations under article 6(3) of the EU Habitats Directive, and the national regulations thereon, in respect of the proposed military exercises by the Russian Federation, which were originally proposed to be conducted in Ireland's exclusive economic zone given his Department's responsibility for the European Communities (Birds and Natural Habitats) Regulations SI. 477 of 2011, as amended; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
