PQ 351

351. Deputy Maureen O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs if his attention has been drawn to the fact that under existing legislation, only one member of staff in child care facilities and nurseries is required to be trained in paediatric first aid; in view of the amount of children often on the premises, his views that this law needs to be revised and that this lack of onus on crèches and other facilities is creating a deficiency in care for children; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
