PQ 355

355. Deputy Patrick Nulty asked the Minister for Social Protection if she will confirm that young persons currently in receipt of jobseeker's allowance who manage to get a few weeks work over Christmas will not be put on the lower rate of jobseeker's allowance when they are forced to sign on again after the period of Christmas work runs out; her views that it would be unjust and discriminatory to put young persons, previously in receipt of the higher personal rate, on a lower rate of payment after they had managed to secure limited Christmas employment; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
