Deputy Richard Boyd Barrett asked the Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government the projected cost of providing 100,000 council homes over the next five years if these homes were to be provided and managed by local authorities, not leased or rented from developers or private landlords, taking into account both the savings in the savings accrued from the transfer of those in supported private rented accommodation and emergency accommodation and the extra revenue accrued by local authorities in rent.
