Mitchell asked the Minister for Finance if he has given consideration to the proposal that in order to avoid adding to inflationary pressures and at the same time to share the national wealth with taxpayers, future income tax concessions should be given by way of issuing shares in a national investment fund, equal in value to, and in lieu of the proposed tax cut, which could not be cashed for a minimum period of years; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
