Deputy Mick Wallace asked the Minister for Health if the eight selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors and serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors, Fluoxetine, Citalopram, Paroxetine, Sertraline, Fluvoxamine, Escitalopram, Venlafazine and Duloxetine, that the Health Service Executive prescribes to 249,900 persons are completely safe for human consumption; if, in prescribing them, the executive is adhering to the precautionary principle; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
