Deputy Robert Dowds asked the Minister for Finance the action he proposes to take to further tackle tax fraud, in view of the findings of an investigation by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists that between 50 to 60 Irish addresses are listed as being connected to secret offshore bank accounts with a total estimated value of €16-25 trillion and further in view of the European Commission's response to the findings of this investigation, which was to call on member states, including Ireland, to do more to tackle tax fraud in view of the fact that the cost of tax fraud to member states is an estimated €1 trillion per year; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
