Deputy John Connolly asked the Minister for Transport the amount of money invested by his Department, through Transport Infrastructure Ireland, in greenways, each year since responsibility for greenways was handed over to them; the location and length of each greenway developed to date, and the annual usage of them, broken down between cycling and walking; the way in which this is measured; if he is happy his Department is getting value for money for the expenditure on greenways; and whether it is intended to focus further expenditure on greenways in the future on the areas of greatest demand; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
