Deputy Louise O'Reilly asked the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage if he agrees that when a Government Department confirms a recurring threat to public health and safety for the first time there should be a clear and distinct public administration response from said Department and from relevant executive agencies, and as the Minister - on the advice of his Department or the NPWS legally declared in July 2022, and again in April 2023, that high density urban gull colonies are a threat to the health and safety of the people of Balbriggan, a town of circa 25,000 citizens, if he will provide copies of the formal correspondence between his Department or the National Parks and Wildlife Service and Fingal County Council regarding the above threat since he made the legal declaration in July 2022.
